Eng-Wong, Taub & Associates served as traffic and parking consultants on the environmental planning team that prepared the draft and final generic environmental impact statements for redevelopment of the World Trade Center site on behalf of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. Proposed redevelopment of the site will include 10 million square feet of office space, one million square feet of retail space and a memorial, museum, hotel, and performing arts center, as well an underground vehicular security center and tour bus parking facility. Key technical services provided by Eng-Wong, Taub have included the following:

  • Conducted traffic and parking impact analyses for existing and future conditions;
  • Identified and evaluated a range of traffic mitigation measures for significant impacts, including new signal phasing and timing plans, parking regulation modifications, and channelization improvements.
  • Participated in public hearings, presentations, and interagency coordination meetings; and
  • Involved in a series of meetings with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and PANYNJ representatives regarding street management plans in the area that would affect site access and circulation, truck deliveries, site security, and agency needs.
