Eng-Wong, Taub & Associates provided traffic engineering and planning services as part of a multidisciplinary consultant team that evaluated alternatives and prepared engineering and environmental assessments for a new light rail transit system to serve the Hudson River waterfront corridor from Bayonne to Edgewater. Key services provided by Eng-Wong, Taub included the following: Helped evaluate alternative capital-intensive transit system concepts for the corridor within the AA/DEIS; Analyzed traffic impacts and parking issues for the range of transitway and roadway alternatives considered early in the process; Participated in the planning and design of light rail transit facilities – alignment and station options, park-and-ride facilities, and traffic access systems – and in the full documentation of project impacts within the FEIS; and Conducted traffic studies for over 90 critical-analysis locations, including 34 grade crossing locations, park-and-ride feeder routes, and major traffic locations within Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken, and West New York.
